Unwanted hair and razor bumps

Hair grows on all areas of the human body except for the palms of the hands, the lips, and the soles of the feet. Often times, hair can grow in areas that are unsightly and difficult to shave.

Pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps) is a common condition of the beard area and scalp occurring in African American’s and other people with curly hair. The problem results when highly curved hairs grow back into the skin causing inflammation and a foreign body reaction. Over time, this can cause keloidal scarring which looks like hard bumps of the beard area and neck. In the past the only good solution to treat this condition was to just grow a beard. Now laser hair removal with the Gentle Yag laser offers an alternative treatment to this condition.
